“Liam Coen has informed the Buccaneers that he is taking the Jaguars’ head coaching job, per @JennaLaineESPN.”

He also shared another X post captioning this:

“From Tampa to Jacksonville: Liam Coen has landed a huge deal to become the Jaguars’ new head coach and left behind the agreement he reached this week to become the league’s highest-paid coordinator for the Buccaneers. The Jaguars now get their head coach and the Bucs lose their coordinator.”

Tampa Journalist Jenna Laine shared her views on the new head coach for Jacksonville Jaguars, Liam Coen

Jenna shared on X,

“Liam Coen helped a Bucs run game go from dead last in the NFL in 2023 to fourth in 2024 and he helped Baker Mayfield go from a then-career best 28 passing touchdowns in 2023 to 41 in 2024. Third most offensive points in franchise history behind only Brady years of 2020 and 2021”

Liam Coen got the highest-paying coordinator job at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL Insider, Adam Schefter posted on X:

“As one person said about the two-day saga that saw the Jaguars lose their GM, the Buccaneers lose their OC and Coen accept two jobs - one that made him the NFL’s highest-paid coordinator, and another to become Jacksonville’s HC: “I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.”

He will be paid $4.5 million annually as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, along with an extension of three years. All this came to light after Coen was approached by the Jaguars for the HC job. Coen did not say yes to the extension. The Bucs even let Coen select his new GM.

But look at the twist of fate

Coen’s child fell sick and he was away at the Doctor’s. The Bucs team could not reach him on call or by text. The same night, Coen informed the Bucs team that he was considering the HC job at the Jaguars. He will be paid $13 million annually as the head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
