Former
NFL star and TV analyst Marcellus Wiley is once again under scrutiny after being accused of sexually assaulting two women while attending Columbia University in the 1990s. The accusations, which surfaced through a lawsuit filed last week in New York, claim that Wiley attacked the two women in separate incidents in his dorm room in 1994. This development marks another chapter in a growing list of allegations against the former Pro Bowler.
Marcellus Wiley faces serious allegations of r-ping two women while attending Columbia University
The latest legal filings allege that Marcellus Wiley, who was a standout player for the Columbia Lions, pressured one of the accusers into sex after inviting her to his dorm room on October 27, 1994. The woman, now living in Texas and identified as Jane Doe in court papers, stated that Wiley dismissed her repeated refusals, telling her that she was "too upright and needed to relax." According to the lawsuit, Wiley then turned up the volume on his stereo, overpowered her, and "swung [her] legs on the bed, lunged towards her and overpowered [her]."
Jane Doe further alleged that Wiley held her down and whispered, "to relax, enjoy it, stop crying, and stop fighting the feeling." The accuser claimed she reported the assault to a Columbia University administrator, but was discouraged from filing a formal complaint.
According to the lawsuit, the administrator told her that going public would label her as "the girl who destroyed a black man’s NFL dream."
A second accuser, identified only as a California resident, claimed that Wiley assaulted her in a separate incident about a month later, also in his dorm room. Both women are seeking unspecified damages through the lawsuit.
This is not the first time Wiley has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. In November 2023, another woman — now an Ivy League professor and sociologist — accused Wiley of raping her while they were students at Columbia University in 1994. Wiley strongly denied the allegations in a YouTube video, calling them "BS."
"If you're a virgin, I am not going to be your first, because I am not looking at it with the same respect, esteem, honor that you should ... We did mess around, but no vaginal intercourse," Wiley stated in the video. He also claimed that the woman only felt shame because "she knew there was no future with me."
Wiley, now 50, enjoyed a successful 10-season NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was named to the Pro Bowl three times and was a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Following his playing career, Wiley transitioned into broadcasting, co-hosting SportsNation on ESPN and later Speak for Yourself on Fox Sports 1. He also appeared on Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker in 2011.
Wiley married Annemarie Wiley, a nurse anesthetist, in 2014. The couple shares three children, and Wiley has a daughter from a previous relationship. Annemarie appeared on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2023 but was abruptly removed from the show.
