Many people were shocked to know that the former New York Giants star quarterback Eli Manning did not receive 80% of the votes required to achieve a Hall of Fame honor at the NFL Honors 2025. One of those wellwishers of Peyton Manning’s younger brother, Eli, was Dallas Cowboys' legendary running back, Emmitt Smith.

The NFL rushing leader, Emmitt Smith, shared with Kay Adams at the Up & Adams show that it's time to create space and take advantage of that space when one has an opportunity to do so. Emmitt Smith feels Eli Manning defeated the greatest of all, 7-time Super Bowl Champion, Tom Brady, and so, Eli should have rightfully received a Hall of Fame honor at the NFL Honors 2025.

The 8-time Pro Bowler, Emmitt Smith, expressed his views on the Up & Adams show. He said, “I don’t know if they got it right or not. Because there are seven spots, and they should have filled up all seven spots. In the years to come, you’re gonna have a number of guys that just retired some years ago that would come up at one point. And now, you’re gonna claim you don’t have enough space. So, it’s time to create the space and take advantage of that space when you have an opportunity to do so.”
The 1993 NFL MVP urged voters to be conscious about voting. Emmitt shared with Kay Adams, “If you got seven spots, you have to be consistent about how you voting, who you voting for, and who needs to get in and when they need to get in and take advantage of it.”

Emmitt Smith said, “He’s (Eli Manning) the only guy to beat Tom Brady. And, that matters a lot.”
Kay Adams interrupted, “Because you get to say you beat the greatest ever and did it twice."
Emmitt repeated, “Beat the greatest ever and did it twice. That’s all you have to say. Who else can say that? What other team can say that they beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl?”
Eli Manning, 4x Pro Bowler, beat 7-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady’s New England Patriots twice. Once in 2008, and a second time in 2012. Those are the two only Super Bowl accolades that Eli Manning owns. Yet, he did not make it to the Hall of Fame honor at the NFL Honors 2025!
