Dunkin’s wild Super Bowl ad teaser hints at Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, and Jeremy Strong chaos

The DunKings are making their chaotic return to Super Bowl Sunday. This time, Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, and Succession’s Jeremy Strong star in Dunkin’s bizarre new teaser. The ad aired during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and honestly? It's exactly what you’d expect from a crew of Boston legends trying to one-up each other in absurdity.

The Afflecks meet Jeremy Strong in a coffee-fueled fever dream

In the 45-second spot titled The Bean Method, Ben and Casey Affleck try to get Strong out of his dressing room. Casey warns Ben that Strong is deep in his method acting. No exaggeration. The guy is literally submerged in coffee grounds.

“I’m just trying to find a way in,” Strong explains, completely deadpan. “You’re from Boston, I’m from Boston. Dunkin’ is Boston. Boston is Paul Revere. One if by land, two if by sea. The red coats are coming.”

Ben, with zero patience, blurts out, “You’re an artist. I get that. But how long is this bean thing gonna take?”Strong casually replies, “Three hours.” Casey, meanwhile, mutters, “You should have paid for Matt [Damon].”

Cue the screen text: “Suit up, America.” The teaser signs off with the date of Super Bowl LIX—Feb 9, 2025—when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dunkin’ knows how to milk the Boston banter

This isn’t just another coffee ad. Last year’s DunKings commercial was a cultural event. The lineup included Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Tom Brady, all dressed in bright orange Dunkin’ tracksuits. The trio tried (and failed) to form a Dunkin’-themed boyband. Even Jennifer Lopez made an appearance to roast her husband, pulling up to a Dunkin' drive-thru window to confront him: “Is this what you do when you say you’re working all day?”

That commercial went viral, leading Dunkin’ to drop limited-edition DunKings apparel. It sold out in minutes. The success didn’t stop there—Ben Affleck even got a signature Dunkin’ coffee drink named after him.

Now, Dunkin’ seems intent on recreating the chaos with Strong’s offbeat addition. Will it work? Probably. Boston accents, method acting, and caffeine-fueled absurdity are a winning combo.

Jeremy Strong does Apocalypse Now—but with coffee

Strong’s performance is peak weird in the best way. The ad leans into his intense reputation, with Ben commenting on the whole situation: “I never did no research on nothin’. Look where I’m at!”

Ben eventually storms into Strong’s room, passing a chalkboard filled with cryptic notes like “Boston cream,” “action + objective,” and “thirteen colonies.” (A playful nod to Good Will Hunting, maybe?)

Then the camera pans to Strong emerging Apocalypse Now-style from a giant Dunkin’ can. He’s covered head-to-toe in slimy coffee grounds.

Ben, disturbed, asks, “What are you doing in there?” Strong, still spitting out coffee, calmly responds, “We’re doing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial, right? I think I found a way in.”

It’s ridiculous. It’s surreal. It’s exactly what Super Bowl commercials are supposed to be.

Will Matt Damon make a surprise cameo?

The teaser hints at Damon’s absence, but fans can’t help but wonder if the Good Will Hunting star will make an appearance. The joke about “paying for Matt” is a wink to last year’s ad, where Damon played a central role in the DunKings boyband chaos.

Jennifer Lopez’s involvement is also up in the air. Her drive-thru cameo last year became one of the most talked-about moments of the Super Bowl, adding another layer of celebrity spectacle to the ad’s success.

For now, all we know is that Ben, Casey, and Strong are front and center—and Dunkin’ is fully leaning into Boston’s star power once again.
