turned back the clock on Thursday night. The 40-year-old led the to a thrilling win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns. His masterclass performance left fans amazed, and brought back an old Donald Trump video from 2015 where the U.S. President praised Flacco as an
“elite quarterback.” That old clip has gone viral again after Flacco’s latest heroics.
Donald Trump once called Joe Flacco an “elite quarterback”
In 2015, just months after announcing his run for president, Donald Trump took part in a Twitter Q&A where a fan asked him about Joe Flacco. Trump replied,
“I think Joe Flacco is actually a very elite quarterback. He won a Super Bowl … absolutely, he is an elite quarterback.”That clip, first shared on Sports Illustrated, has resurfaced online as fans point out how accurate Trump’s words seem today.
Joe Flacco famously led the Baltimore Ravens to Super Bowl glory in 2012, beating the San Francisco 49ers 34–31 and earning the Super Bowl MVP title.
Donald Trump, who has long been vocal about football, also once tried to buy the Buffalo Bills franchise in 2014 for $1 billion but lost the bid to the Pegula family, who offered $1.4 billion.
He has remained a keen NFL follower ever since and even appeared on the football podcast Bussin’ with the Boys last year, sharing stories about his time in the league’s orbit.
Joe Flacco shines again with the Bengals
Flacco joined the Bengals on October 7 after being traded from the Cleveland Browns. With Joe Burrow recovering from toe surgery, Flacco stepped up as the starter, and his second game with Cincinnati showed that experience still matters.

Flacco’s poise and leadership helped the Bengals end a four-game losing streak and improve their season record to 3–4.
Now, Cincinnati has an eight-day break before facing the struggling New York Jets, who are 0–6 this season. If Joe Flacco continues to perform at this level, Trump’s “elite quarterback” tag might prove more accurate than ever.
