In response, Baldoni launched a $400 million defamation lawsuit and, in a shocking move, included Taylor Swift’s name in court documents. Baldoni alleged that Lively used Swift’s influence to push for creative changes and claimed the pop icon was present at a contentious post-production meeting in Lively's New York City apartment.
Taylor Swift, who has carefully maintained a polished public image, was reportedly blindsided by the situation. Sources stated the Grammy winner “never planned” to attend the meeting and arrived to find it already in progress. The unexpected entanglement in a heated legal dispute caused tension between the longtime friends, leading to a reported period where the two were not speaking.
However, according to a report by NewsNation’s Paula Froelich and later backed by Page Six, Blake Lively took the first step toward reconciliation. The insider explained, “It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor. It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship. Blake missed their friendship and she hopes they can put this whole thing behind them.”
Swift’s reaction, according to Page Six, was notably gracious. She “appreciated” the apology and believed it was “genuine and heartfelt.” The source added, “[Taylor] has no hard feelings and is ready to move forward.”
While Swift continues to enjoy downtime with NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce during the offseason, the possibility of her and Lively reuniting in public—alongside Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds and Kelce—has Swifties buzzing.
