Crissy Froyd has once again intensified the controversy surrounding Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel after making explosive new claims during an appearance on “The Howard Eskin Show.” More than a month after losing her freelance role at USA Today, Froyd is still speaking publicly about what she believes has been hidden inside NFL media circles for years.
The latest comments quickly spread online because Froyd did not hesitate when asked how long she believed Russini and Vrabel had allegedly been involved. While social media users previously pointed to photos from 2020, Froyd claimed the timeline stretches much further back.
Crissy Froyd makes explosive Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel claim
During the interview, Froyd directly addressed the alleged timeline surrounding Russini and Vrabel.
“At least 10 years,” Froyd said, answering the question with firm confidence. “I would assume between – for what I know, between her and him. And certainly, for what I know about her. At least 10 years."
That statement immediately reignited discussion across NFL media circles and social media platforms. Froyd also expressed frustration with what she described as years of silence from people inside the industry.
“The biggest thing to me was the way that everyone knew, and no one did anything about it, and it was obvious,” Froyd said. “And then, to me, the worst part of it was, I would almost feel bad for her if she fell in love for six months and made these horrible mistakes, and she owned up to it."
“Because everybody makes mistakes in their lifetime. We all know that. And we've seen it time and time again. But you don't make the same mistake for six years, 10 years, anything of that longevity, whatsoever.”
The comments fueled another wave of debate online, especially among fans already divided over the growing scandal and the ethics questions surrounding it.
Dianna Russini controversy sparks broader NFL media debate
Froyd’s remarks did not stop with Russini and Vrabel. In a separate Daily Mail article, she widened the conversation by discussing what she described as a deeper issue involving female reporters working around NFL teams and executives.
«“I’ve also been told by at least half a dozen female reporters that they have had sex with NFL staff and, in one case, a prominent NFL head coach, while they were covering the team,” Froyd wrote.»
She later argued that the environment surrounding NFL reporting creates unequal pressure for women trying to succeed in the industry.
«“This climate breeds a culture of corruption,” Froyd said “If female reporters don’t play by the rules of this male-dominated game, they are at a disadvantage. And if media organizations that cover the NFL refuse to recognize this while the reporters who cover the league are too intimidated to investigate it, the culture will continue.”»
The controversy has now expanded beyond rumors about individual relationships. It has become a larger conversation about ethics, influence, media power, and accountability within NFL journalism itself.
