Today’s match between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions got too intense even for some players and coaches when Matt LeFleur reportedly abused a Detroit Lions fan. Dan Skipper Supports And Appreciates The Fan Who Stood Up To Matt LeFleur For The Detroit Lions

The Thursday match between the two teams had fans on edge the whole time. But drama unfolded on the fields even before the match reportedly started. Matt LeFleur abused a Detroit Lions fan by saying, “Shut the f--- up." While it is not clear what the fan said to the coach that provoked such a reaction from him, the fan was wearing a Brian Branch replica jersey. Matt walked up to the fan and abused him as other Green Bay Packers players came to Matt’s rescue and surrounded him. Soon they were separated and the match began which ultimately the Detroit Lions finally won.

This altercation also continued online with fans of both the teams started arguing with each other. However, in the midst of all this, no player had come out in public showing support to either the Detroit Lions fan or the coach of the Green Bay Packers Matt LeFleur. Dan Skipper, the offensive tackle of the Detroit Lions, changed this by posting a funny meme which expressed his support for the fan who went against the coach. This shows what the players of the Detroit Lions felt even if none of them have not issued a statement about this incident.

Matt LeFleur Defends Himself For His Reaction Towards The Detroit Lions’ Fan

After the match when the Detroit Lions won, Matt LeFleur came out and gave a statement to the reports about his whole altercation with the Detroit Lions fan. He spoke about what the fan actually did which provoked such a reaction from him. He said, "I’ve never been a part of something like that. He was talking junk to our players, giving them the 'throat-slash' sign. And you know, you’re trying to de-escalate it and then he gets in my face. I thought it was pretty unsportsmanlike. I’ve never seen that. I’ve been on many fields and usually they police that much better. I thought it was an arrogant fan who wanted to get part of the action. I would like to see security or something step in there and get him out of there. Because he shouldn’t be doing that."

No matter what the situation was, Detroit Lions won the match by a 34-31 and have become the first NFC team which entered the Playoffs this season. For the Green Bay Packers, the situation looks tough currently as it has to depend on a wild card spot for an entry into the NFC Playoffs. This is the sixth win for the Detroit Lions against the Green Bay Packers this season, even with several of its players being injured and unable to practice on the Thursday Night Match.
