NEW DELHI: With the Dallas Cowboys gear up for a crucial regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders with a shot at claiming the NFC East division title, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn faces speculation about potential head coaching opportunities. Despite the impending distractions, Quinn remains focused on the task at hand, emphasizing his commitment to the Cowboys' playoff push.
Quinn, instrumental in transforming the Cowboys' defense this season, is expected to be a sought-after candidate for head coaching positions in the coming days. His successful track record as the former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and his impact on Dallas's defensive resurgence make him an attractive prospect for teams with coaching vacancies.

In response to the speculation, Quinn downplayed any distractions, highlighting that preparation for potential head coaching opportunities was done during the offseason. He expressed readiness to discuss coaching positions when the time arises, emphasizing his ability to compartmentalize and stay focused on the present moment with the Cowboys.
"A Week 18 win means more than a division title for Dallas. It puts the Cowboys at home for the first round of the postseason, where Dallas is 8-0 this season," Quinn stated, underscoring the significance of securing a win against the Commanders.

Quinn had interviews with multiple teams last January, including the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, and Indianapolis Colts, before choosing to stay in Dallas to address what he referred to as "unfinished business." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recognized Quinn's loyalty, leading to an adjusted contract.
Addressing his decision to stay in Dallas, Quinn explained, "I didn't want to see anybody else coaching these guys, and there was unfinished business in my mind. That was a big reason for me knowing that I had unfinished business with them, and I wanted to see that through as much as I could."
While coaching speculation looms, Quinn remains committed to the Cowboys and their playoff aspirations. The Cowboys' success this season has positioned them well for the playoffs, and a win in the regular-season finale would not only secure the division title but also a coveted home-field advantage in the postseason.
