“Cry about some dumb sh*t”: Cardi B refuses to apologize for fat shaming a fan joke as Stefon Diggs romance heats up

Cardi B is no stranger to controversy, but her latest remarks about her own fanbase have sparked an online storm — and she’s making it clear she’s not backing down. The “WAP” rapper recently called her supporters “fat as f—” during a livestream, prompting accusations of fatphobia. But instead of walking it back, Cardi insists it was all in jest, even as the conversation coincides with renewed headlines linking her to NFL star Stefon Diggs.

Cardi B’s unapologetic stance on the fatphobia backlash

The uproar began when Cardi, while promoting merchandise for her upcoming September album Am I the Drama, pointed out that the 3X-sized T-shirts sold out faster than smaller sizes.


In her unfiltered style, she told viewers, “So the box sets are completely sold out, especially because you fat f-cks—clearly you guys are fat as f-ck, no Chick-fil-A for y’all.” She added, “Now, knowing that my fans is fat—I can’t even make fun of fat people no more. Don’t call me fatphobic, y’all, ‘cause everybody make fun of my BBL.”

After social media lit up with criticism, Cardi took to TikTok to clarify, saying, “It was an innocent joke between me and my fans…it’s not that serious. Especially when it comes to me, I make fun of everybody. I don’t care if you fat, skinny, BBL down, got big feet, got small feet, whatever. As long as you don’t stink, I don’t give a damn.”

She later doubled down, declaring, “I’m not going to apologize because y’all are sensitive and wanna cry about some dumb sh-t. Every day y’all wanna cry about some dumb sh-t.”

Where Stefon Diggs fits into the conversation

While Cardi was busy defending her remarks, her name also resurfaced in gossip columns alongside Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The two were previously rumored to have crossed paths socially, and fans on social media wasted no time linking Diggs into the narrative, joking about whether he’d have something to say about Cardi’s latest controversy.
