Bucky Irving goes candid with Kay Adams, says he likes tooth gems and favors Tush-Push Play

Bucky Irving, full name - Mar’Keise “Bucky” Irving, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2024 NFL Draft as their 4th round, 125th pick! In his rookie year, the running back and kickoff returner stunned everyone! Irving became the first Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie to rush for at least 1000 yards! Doug Martin did it 12 years ago! In 2012!

On May 9, Irving talked about his rookie year and more with Sportscaster and Television host, Kay Adams on her self-named show, Up & Adams with Kay Adams. A little sneak peek? Bucky Irving is not a huge fan of oat milk! Another one? The 22-year-old likes tooth gems!

Kay Adams: “Don’t be crazy. Look at these stats. C’mon. Scrimmage yards, rush yards, rushing touchdowns - you led all rookies in every category! Which stat here are you most proud of?”

Bucky Irving: “I’m not really a guy that pretty much live and like the past. In this profession, I feel like they don’t really care about what you did last year. It’s a new season, so I got to do it all over again.”

Adams: “So, what does success look like for you in year two? What are the goals that you’re setting for yourself and trying to meet every day?”

Irving: “I’m not a guy that necessarily sets goals. I go day by day. I just want to come in and pretty much feed off where I left off last year. Just being able to stay humble and stay focused and keep rolling.”




Adams: “When you get the (2025 NFL)schedule, what’s the first thing you’ll look at?”

Irving: “Who’s coming down to Tampa in summer.”

On the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, Adams created a game for superstar running back and kickoff returner for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bucky Irving. She called it “Backing It or Bucking It”. Backing It - means you’re okay with it, you like it. While, Bucking It - means you’re not okay with it, you don’t like it. Irving: “I’m bucking it.”

Irving: “I’m too small to be getting in the trucks.” Bucky Irving is 5 feet 10 inches tall.
