Breece Hall speaks candidly about his future with the New York Jets as Minnesota Vikings links surface

Breece Hall shared his thoughts in an interview with the New York Post. After months of repeated questions, he sounded measured rather than emotional.

“I don’t know,” Hall told the New York Post. “I’ve addressed this for like six, seven months. Now I’m just kind of like: whatever happens, happens.”

That answer matters because the uncertainty has not slowed. Since the 2025 season ended, his name has surfaced in contract discussions and trade scenarios. ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported on X that the Jets are weighing several options. Fowler's post reads, “The Jets are weighing all options with Breece Hall’s future, including a tag and/or an effort toward a long-term deal. Some inside leagues expect the transition tag for Hall (around $11.7M), but that’s yet to be determined.”


At the same time, outside interest has gained traction. On February 20, CBS Sports analyst Damien Harris said on CBS Sports HQ that Minnesota could be a logical landing spot if the Jets decide to move him. The Vikings finished the 2025 regular season with 1,841 rushing yards and averaged 108.3 per game, both ranking in the bottom 10 in the league, according to ESPN. As a result, their need at running back has become obvious.

In that matter, Hall’s profile stands out. Over 56 games with New York, he has logged 755 carries for 3,398 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns. In addition, he contributes as a receiver and pass protector, which increases his value. Still, the Jets are going nowhere fast. They’re primed to be a bottom-three team in 2026 regardless of what they do in free agency or the draft. With Hall still having his prime years ahead of him, no amount of money on earth might be enough to sway him to stay in New Jersey.
