Andy Reid isn’t holding back his frustrations with the Kansas City Chiefs despite their recent narrow-margin wins. Following Sunday’s game, the 66-year-old coach delivered a firm message to his squad, urging them to “buckle up” and focus on cleaning up their performance. But Reid’s concerns go beyond the team’s gameplay.
Injuries are mounting for the Chiefs, adding to their challenges. Reid confirmed that linebacker Cam Jones (illness) and kicker Spencer Shrader (hamstring) are on injured reserve. To make matters worse, tight end Peyton Hendershot has now joined the list due to a calf injury sustained during Week 12. While Hendershot managed to finish the game, he has been ruled out for the next four weeks, leaving a gap in the team’s tight end lineup.
The tight end position is already stretched thin. Rookie Jared Wiley (ACL) and Jody Fortson (knee) are both out for the season, putting even more pressure on
Travis Kelce. However, Kelce himself is reportedly not in top form, raising questions about how the Chiefs will navigate this critical stretch of the season.
With the injury list growing and performance concerns lingering, the road ahead looks challenging for the Chiefs. Can Reid and his squad rise to the occasion? Time will tell.

Travis Kelce, once a dominant force on the field, seems to be struggling this season. Back in 2020, the Chiefs' tight end set a record with 1,416 receiving yards in a single season, and just last year, he became the fourth and fastest tight end to hit 11,000 career receiving yards. However, in 2024, Kelce has only managed to score 2 touchdowns, with his best performance coming in a 14-reception, 100-yard game against the Buccaneers.
NFL cornerback Domonique Foxworth raised concerns, saying, “Travis Kelce ain’t right. There’s no explosion.” His critique is backed by Kelce's underwhelming numbers this season, leaving fans wondering what’s going on with the once-unbeatable tight end. (Via: EssentiallySports)
Despite the struggles, there’s still time for a comeback. As the only high-profile tight end left on the roster, Kelce will need to reignite his game, starting with Week 13.
