Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will be paid 400% more than before
On Tuesday, June 18th, 2025 news broke that the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will be compensated at 400 percent higher than before. This news was reported by ESPN and confirmed by the Dallas Cowboys franchise in Arlington, Texas.
The cheerleaders used to make $200 per game day but now will make $600 per performance and $25 per hour during practices and appearances.
All of this occurred after many complaints and criticisms of low pay for a group of individuals that perform regularly before tens of thousands of fans each weekend and national television.
Charlotte Jones, the daughter of team owner Jerry Jones and the executive vice president of the Dallas Cowboys, told TODAY on NBC, “We felt it was time to make this change. These women work hard and represent our brand at the highest level.”
The increase also follows the recent release of the Netflix docuseries America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which showed how much time and effort these cheerleaders put into their job.
Former cheerleaders like Victoria Kalina and Jenna Jackson speak out
Victoria Kalina, who was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader until 2022, shared her thoughts with People magazine. “I’m so happy for the current team. This is something we’ve all hoped for,” She said on Wednesday, June 19, 2025. Jenna Jackson, another former member, also lauded the choice, adding, "It's long overdue. We gave our time and energy, and this pay raise shows real respect.”
The decision has received strong support across social media, with fans and former team members saying this is a big win for women in sports entertainment.
