Playoff football does not pause for Hollywood schedules, and
Hailee Steinfeld learned that in real time. As the Buffalo Bills pushed deeper into January football, the actress found herself balancing red carpet pressure with raw game-day nerves. The result was a rare behind-the-scenes look at how sports loyalty follows players and their families everywhere, even onto the world’s biggest entertainment stage.
The Bills’ road win over Jacksonville marked a milestone moment for
Josh Allen and the franchise. But for Steinfeld, watching it unfold from Los Angeles added a different kind of tension. While fans filled EverBank Stadium, she was preparing for the Golden Globes, navigating glamour, emotions, and playoff anxiety all at once.
Hailee Steinfeld shares how Bills playoff nerves followed her to the Golden Globes
Steinfeld, who is pregnant with her first child, shared the experience in her Beau Society newsletter, revealing that the Bills game unfolded alongside her red carpet prep.
She wrote, “The day of the Globes, something exciting was on TV that I’m sure you were all watching. Kickoff just happened to be at the same time as glam, so I was a little (lot) distracted. Luckily, my glam team is incredible at what they do and worked around my constant movement.”
The fourth quarter only raised the stress. With multiple lead changes, every moment mattered. Steinfeld added, “Andrew warned me every time an iron was close to my face, so I didn’t accidentally burn myself. Ash waited for a commercial break to do my eyeliner. I don’t know how Tom painted my nails with my hands flying around, but he got it done. Dream team.”
Despite the chaos, the night ended on a high. Steinfeld presented an award and celebrated her film Sinners, while the Bills’ win earned recognition even inside the ceremony. One moment stood out most. She recalled
Adam Sandler stopping her to say, “Hey, buddy! I loved Sinners! You’re doing amazing. And congrats to Josh!”
It was a reminder that when football matters, it follows you everywhere.
