A.J. Brown Trade Rumors: Eagles could move star WR to reset cap and offense

“An A.J. Brown trade is possible this offseason,” Fowler said on the show. “Some league executives have felt that way since October.”

Fowler explained that if the Eagles designate Brown as a post-June 1 trade, the team could clear around $7 million in cap space. That flexibility could help Philadelphia rework a roster that already carries several big contracts.

Brown’s 2025 season looked solid on paper but felt quieter than usual. He finished with 78 catches, 1,003 yards, and seven TDs. Those numbers marked a step down from his dominant stretch in previous years.

Around the league, many believe the dip came from changes in the offense. TE Dallas Goedert saw more targets, and the passing game never settled into a clear identity.

Still, talent is not the question.

“He’s an immediate upgrade for any team,” an NFL personnel evaluator told ESPN. “You plug him in and the whole offense looks different.”

Brown turns 29 in June 2026, which keeps him firmly in his prime. That age, combined with his résumé, makes him one of the most attractive trade pieces on the market.

The Buffalo Bills remain one of the teams most closely linked to him. Josh Allen continues to search for a true No. 1 receiver.

“The Bills need help at wideout,” the evaluator said. “Khalil Shakir is good, but he’s not that guy defenses fear.”

Other teams showing interest include the Titans, Browns, 49ers, and Raiders. Tennessee and Cleveland both want reliable targets for young quarterbacks. San Francisco keeps chasing offensive stability. Las Vegas plans to draft Fernando Mendoza in 2026 and could use a proven veteran to ease that transition.

For Philly's, this goes beyond money. Brown has been a leader and one of the emotional engines of the team. But after another early playoff exit and growing tension inside the offense, the Eagles may finally choose a clean break.

If they do, A.J. Brown will not just be traded. He will reset the entire offseason market in one move.
