Zol looks well prepared for first-class cricket
Vijay Zol is making fast strides into top-flight cricket.
The boy from Jalna was an unknown commodity before he got 451 in a Cooch Behar Trophy match against Assam in December 2011. Since then, he has played for the India U-19 side and his successful graduation to first-class cricket happened when he turned out for India 'A' against New Zealand.
And it turned out to be a dream debut for Zol, as he went on to score 110, thus showing that he is a player who is perfectly cut out for the big stage.

"As I walked in to bat, there was a bit of nervousness. But I took it in a positive way since I know there was an opportunity which I could not miss out. Two Test bowlers bowling at me, the margin of error was going to be less. I knew that there won't be easy runs on offer, and I remained patient," said Zol after completing his century.
His skipper Abhishek Nayar, too, had a word of praise for the way Zol approached his innings. "Vijay is a quick learner. His basics are in place, and he goes about his job with ease. It was good to see that he did not have the nerves of a first-timer and looked extremely comfortable in the middle, and went on to play a splendid innings," Nayar said.
But Zol would know for certain that this just the beginning of long journey ahead.
