World T20: Indian women stay on track with win

BENGALURU: The number of spectators in attendance at the M Chinnaswamy stadium wasn't more than 200, but for the Women in Blue it was not about the seats occupied but the numbers on the scoreboard that mattered. On an overcast Wednesday afternoon, Mithali Raj and her band of girls put up a clinical show to begin their Women's World T20 campaign with a 72 run win over Bangladesh.
Replying to India's competitive 1635 in 20 overs, Bangladesh managed just 915. On a batting track with a bit of turn, India rode on a team effort rather than individual brilliance.
