Will Dravid remain in ODI frame?
NEW DELHI: The Indian selectors will be in a dilemma whether to pick Rahul Dravid for the upcoming One-day series against Australia at home.
With Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh sure to be named for the series following brief injury lay-offs, the selectors' job is not going to be any easier when they meet on Thursday to select the team for the first two or three games of the seven-match ODI series.

The selectors are also expected to have a discussion on Tuesday on the way forward for the team.
As of now, it will be difficult to ignore Dravid, who did reasonably well in the Champions Trophy, where the Indians were knocked out in the group stages. But the big question is, where will Dravid fit in the playing XI once Viru and Yuvi return? If picked in the 15-member squad, Dravid must fit in the playing XI but with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni and Raina in the line-up, there will be any slot for Mr Dependable?
Besides Dravid, four other players who were part of the Champions Trophy squad Ishant Sharma, RP Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Abhishek Nayar are also likely to come under the scanner. The out-of-form Ishant could be given a break and his place in the side could go to Munaf Patel, who finished as the highest wicket-taker in the Challenger Series. There is also a question mark over RP Singh's form with the ball and contenders like Sudeep Tyagi and S Sreesanth are also in the race.
Since Indian skipper MS Dhoni has talked about the absence of quality allrounders, there is also a question mark over Yusuf Pathan and Abhishek Nayar as well. In recent times, Pathan has been struggling with the bat while Nayar hasn't shown enough promise with the ball to fill an allrounder's slot. Either of them may have to make way for Ravindra Jadeja, whose name is again doing the rounds.
On the basis of his consistent shows in the Emerging Trophy and the Champions Trophy, Delhi's Virat Kohli is expected to get a longer run with the senior team. The selectors want to look at the future and are keen to groom a youngster like Kohli, who, along with Dinesh Karthik, will strengthen the bench.
In the spin department, Harbhajan Singh will have a partner in leggie Amit Mishra, while Ashish Nehra and Praveen Kumar can consolidate their places as the main pacers in the team.
