Western Railway 'B' entered the Times Shield 'A' Division final by virtue of their 303-run first innings lead over Air India on Day Two of the three-day semifinal at their home ground in Mahalaxmi, on Wednesday.

MUMBAI: Western Railway 'B' entered the Times Shield 'A' Division final by virtue of their 303-run first innings lead over Air India on Day Two of the three-day semifinal at their home ground in Mahalaxmi, on Wednesday.
Western Railway, resuming at 120-3, went on to score 393-8 when the match was called off by both the captains. A 231-run partnership off 295 balls for the fourth wicket between Shreyas Khanolkar and Ahad Khan was the bright spot of the Railwaymen.

Khanolkar's knock of 118 from 221 balls had 12 fours while Malik hit two sixes and 21 fours in his 239-ball unbeaten innings of 176. Left-arm spinner Ankit Chavan was the pick of the bowlers with 4-124 while Prashant Naik took 2-22.
In the other semi-final, D.Y. Patil Group 'B' scored 165-5 in reply to Tata's 431 at the draw of stumps. Openers Swapnil Salvi (30) and Bravish Shetty (34) gave them a sound start by putting on 62 runs in 14 overs. Nikhil Mandle held on to one end with 39 to his credit. Medium pacers Wilkin Mota and Usman Malvi captured two wickets each.
In the 'B' Division final at Karnataka ground, Jain Irrigation after taking a first innings lead of 142 runs over Mumbai Customs did well to reduce Mumbai Customs to 72-4 in their second innings at close of play on Day Three. Earlier, in reply to Mumbai Customs' first innings total of 202, Jain Irrigation came up with 344.
Intelenet Global Services won the 'D' Division championship, defeating Western Railway Accounts by nine wickets on Day Two of the three day final at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana, on Wednesday.
