Only two batsmen - Ed Joyce and Adil Rashid - could match up to the host bowling attack.
Both of them hung ground for a while to delay a West Zone victory. Joyce made 66 runs studded with nine fours facing 136 balls in 155 minutes.
He raised hopes for the visitors but Pathan removed him to put the host side in command.
Rashid made 39 runs in 148 minutes facing 106 balls.
After dismissing them for at 165 runs just before tea, West Zone needed 27 runs to win and they reached the target losing just one wicket - Ajinkya Rahane - in the process.
