South Zone face West Zone in Deodhar Trophy semis

MUMBAI: After a facile 116-run win over Central Zone on Saturday, South Zone will be favourites against hosts West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy semis at the Wankhede on Monday. The hosts are preparing to make things a lot difficult for the R Vinay Kumar-led side.
"We are aware of the depth in their team, but we too have a balanced squad. So, I am expecting a close contest," Pravin Amre, the coach of West Zone told TOI on Sunday.
South batsmen Baba Aparajith and Karun Nair caned the Central spinners, but Amre feels he has an excellent option in the form of Akshar Patel to counter them.
