MUMBAI: Left-handers Nishit Shetty and Rohan Gavaskar's 135-run fourth-wicket stand based Tata Sports Club's score of 360 for four against debutants Akabar Tarvels in the second round of the Times Cricket Shield 'A' Division league tie at the Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday.
Akbar Travels did well to claim three wickets before Shetty's 61 off 105 balls and Gavaskar's 101 in 145 balls which had two sixes and 13 fours.
Rohan once made a triple hundred in a day in the Times Shield.
Late in the day skipper Ajit Agarkar struck an unbeaten 76 off 78 balls with a six and 11fours. Off spinner Navin Patil claimed two wickets for 67 runs for Akbar Travels.
Amit Pagnis of Western Railway 'B', who has not found a place in the Railways squad for the first time, scored 93 against Indian Oil but his side could score no more than 210.
Left-arm spinner Ahmed Nizam (4-58) and seamer Aquib Shaikh (3-41) helped Mumbai Police to restrict DY Patil to 187 with Abhishek Raut being the top scorer with 81.
Hrishikesh Kanitkar's unbeaten 113 paved Air-India's total of 252 for 6 against Bharat Petroleum at BKC ground, Bandra. He was involved in a 98-run stand for the fourth wicket with Prashant Naik (47). Leg spinner Sairaj Bahutule was the most impressive bowler with 4 for 34 in 17.2 overs.
