JAIPUR: Life's a puzzle! And, no body knows it better than
Robin Bist. The Rajasthan batsman was looking forward to a great West Indies tour, but ultimately ended up fracturing his right thumb, while fielding in the last Test. What looked like a dream tour for the Rajasthan batsman ended in a somber note. "It was painful," Bist said pointing out at the thumb.
"But I'll be back in a couple of weeks," he said rather confidently. Despite a spectacular performance in the domestic circuit, the lady luck hasn't really smiled on Bist, but the 24-year old isn't ready to lose hope.
"I have always believed that performance is the last word in cricket, and I am sure if I do my best, none can stop me," Bist said.
After helping Rajasthan win the second consecutive Ranji Trophy title, greats like
Sunil Gavaskar and Bishen Singh Bedi had admitted that this young guy deserves a chance in the India squad. But it wasn't meant to be. While his contemporaries ruled the
Indian Premier League circuit, Bist had to warm the reserve bench for Delhi Daredevils. "It did hurt, but then we can't do much about it," said the batsman.
Accepting the fact that some knocks in West Indies would have helped him, Bist said his target is to make the most of the opportunities that comes his way.
"The doctor has told me that I can start practicing in a couple of weeks time. And, now my aim is to be consistent in domestic circuit," he said.
For a cricketer, every chance is important and Bist too hopes to maintain his good form next season!.
