Rizvi win under-14 Inter-district title

MUMBAI: Mumbai's Rizvi Springfield High School have emerged as the Maharashtra State champions in the DSO Inter-District U-14 Cricket Championship for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
They beat Ramrao Adik Public School of Srirampur by 39 runs in the final in Ahmednagar last week. Batting first, Rizvi scored 116 for six in 20 overs, with Harsh Tripathi (33) and Vaibhav Kadambkar (34) being the chief run-scorers.
In reply, Ramrao Adik were all out for 77 in 18.2 overs. Off-spinners Faizanul Rabbani, Shreyas Mandlik and seamer Akash Yadav stole the show for Rizvi with three wickets each.
Brief scores: Rizvi Springfield 116 for 6 in 20 overs (Harsh Tripathi 33, Vaibhav Kadambakar 34; Pranav Patil 3/20) beat Ramrao Adik Public School 77 all out 18.2 overs (Faizanul Rabbani 3/10, Shreyas Mandlik 3/15 Akash Yadav 3/12) by 39 runs.
