Ranchi warms up for MSD

RANCHI: Ever since the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) came up with its own stadium in the state capital, cricket has become a big festival for Ranchiites.
More so when home boy Mahendra Singh Dhoni is playing.
The city has expectedly warmed up to his side Chennai Super Kings as they start their Champions League Twenty20 campaign. The enthusiasm was palpable on Wednesday as Dhoni made a short appearance at the stadium.Although the inclement weather prevented the Super Kings from having a proper practice session, Dhoni did not deprive local fans of a glimpse of dear "Mahi". Dhoni's teammate Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted later, "Ranchi is in festive mood already.@msdhoni has surely put his hometown on the cricketing map."
Denesh Ramdin, the Trinidad & Tobago skipper, too, appreciated the ambience and sang paeans to Dhoni. "He is one of the great leaders… Juggling captaincy, batting and keeping is a very difficult job," Ramdin, himself a wicketkeeper captain, said. "He has won the World Cup, Champions League and the Indian Premier League. He is a great leader," he added.
