Pressure will be on Sri Lanka: Rohit Sharma
MUMBAI: Give Rohit Sharma an inch and he'll take a mile. The elegant India ODI regular was halfway down the crease early in the innings when DY Patil 'A' wicketkeeper Yogesh Takawale of IPL fame missed an easy run-out chance.
That turned out to be a costly error and the right-hander went on to smack a 144-ball 126 for employers Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) - his third ton in seven days - in a Times Cricket Shield 'A' Division encounter at the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday.

Interestingly, he fell short while stealing a non-existent second run thanks to a bullet throw by Abhishek Raut from fineleg but that's besides the point. To put things in perspective, Rohit has looked a vastly improved batsman this season.
And he agrees. "I have gotten better and better after the tri-series in Australia. Though I did not play in the Test series in Sri Lanka, I worked on my technique under Gary Kirsten's guidance. My footwork is much better now and even my shot selection has improved," Rohit told TOI on Tuesday.
In fact, Sharma has been in ominous touch in recent months. His hundreds - against the visiting Australian side, three in the Ranji Trophy - speak volumes of his form. "My job is to perform," he added.
