AHMEDABAD: That Gujarat Ranji team captain is a dedicated player is a known fact. A proof of that was visible when the diminutive wicketkeeper was seen sweating it out at the Gujarat Cricket Association's (GCA) indoor academy alone a few days back.
With the exodus of three of his team mates recently,
Parthiv Patel knows that major part of responsibility lies on his strong shoulders hence soon after getting back from USA, where he was vacationing, Patel hit the nets at the indoor academy but alas, no one to help him out expect his Ranji mate
Priyank Panchal.
Such was the scene at that academy that the southpaw was forced practice with the help of the bowling machine as no net bowlers were around.
To make matters worse, lack of people around in the academy meant Priyank was forced to feed the balls in the machine instead him practicing himself.
A GCA official told that the probables for the Ranji team have been selected but if that is the case, how come the skipper of the team and a key player like Parthiv was left all alone in the practice for many days? Maybe only GCA would know the answer.
