Murray Goodwin struck a six off the last ball as Sussex beat Nottinghamshire by two wickets at Trent Bridge on Sunday to win English county cricket's One-day Pro40 First Division title.
Sussex, chasing 227 for victory, were 130 for eight when Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Sami joined the 35-year-old Goodwin at the crease after spinners Samit Patel and Graeme Swann had taken six wickets between them in a match where a Nottinghamshire victory would have given the home side the title.
>But former Zimbabwe batsman Goodwin, also a consistent run-scorer for Western Australia, held his nerve with a superb 87 not out off just 64 balls.
