NAGPUR: They may have missed out on some valuable pre-season practice due to non-participation in the KSCA invitational and the Buchi Babu tourney, but Mumbai are making the most of what they're left with.
On Monday, the Ranji champions made a trip to the 'Orange City' worthwhile by clinching the Bapuna Cup, defeating Kerala by eight wickets in the final league match at Vidarbha Cricket Association's Civil Lines Stadium .

It was their second triumph in a row in the event.
After gaining a 59-run lead in the first innings, Mumbai bowled out Kerala for merely 143 in the second dig. Leftarm Iqbal Abdullah picked up three crucial wickets, while Vishal Dabholkar and Surya Kumar Yadav bagged two sticks apiece. Mumbai then comfortably chased down the 85-run victory target in 24 overs, losing just a couple of wickets. Opener D Subramanian led the chase with a responsible 54, while Kaustubh Pawar scored 24.
Mumbai coach Sulakshan Kulkarni was pleased with his team's all-round show. "It is a good performance. We had a great tournament and we showed our ability to play well in the crunch situations . I am especially pleased with our bowling unit, which showed consistency throughout the tournament. Saurabh Netrawalkar and Iqbal Abdullah were the positives of the tournament. This experience will aid us in the Ranji Trophy," Kulkarni told TOI.
