LONDON, July 17: English side Lancashire is keen to rope in Indian Test batsman VVS Laxman in place of Australian Brad Hodge for their last four County Championship matches this season.
The county authorities have writted to the Indian cricket Board (BCCI) to find out the availability of the stylish Hyderabadi, who is part of the Indian Test team currently touring England.

"Our cricket manager Mike Watkinson is looking at all the options. Laxman is one of them," Lancashire chief executive Jim Cumbes was quoted as saying in the English media.
"We wanted to check his availability and whether the BCCI can release him," he said.
Laxman, who has 10 Test centuries to his name, including 281 against Australia in Kolkata in 2001, is in line to fill the void created by Hodge, who will be away with Australia, the reports said.
