MUMBAI, November 24: It was an absorbing day’s cricket at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. If Sahil Kukreja held sway with a captivating batting display, the bowlers too didn’t give much away on a track which had everything for the perseverant.
With Mumbai putting up a show worthy of their defending champion status, the four-day Ranji Super League match against Delhi is tantalisingly poised.

At stumps on Day 2, the hosts had wiped off the 85-run deficit and were 154-2 in their second essay.
The day’s proceedings were a far cry from the mayhem on the opening day when 14 wickets fell. The Mumbai bowlers began in right earnest and were rewarded for their discipline as Delhi crumbled to 251, adding only 92 runs to their overnight score of 159-4.
Gautam Gambhir departed for 89. His dismissal early was the turning point, resulting in the slide. Small consolation, however, was the three points that Delhi are assured of for taking the lead. Unless, of course, Mumbai spoil it with an outright victory.
