Karthick slams century in Buchi Babu cricket

CHENNAI: K B Arun Karthick's 121 helped Tamil Nadu to post 256 in the first innings against Hyderabad in their third and final round robin league match of the All India Buchi Babu Cricket tournament at MAC Stadium on Monday.
On a rain-interrupted day, Karthick led the Tamil Nadu's batting charge and also got good support from S Anirudha (41) as the duo added 51 runs in 14.1 overs for the second wicket partnership.
Karthick cracked seven fours and a six during his 243-ball innings.
Hyderabad leg-spinner Akaash Bhandari scalped three wickets for 81 runs, while two other spinners Harshavardhan and D B Ravi Teja bagged two each by giving away 58 and 16 runs respectively.
In the other matches, Mumbai made 192 for seven in 66.3 overs against Andhra Pradesh after the start of the match was delayed by an hour, while Punjab were tottering at 71 for three in 32 overs against Vidarbha at the end of day's play.
The other five matches were called off on the first day due to rain and wet pitch conditions.
