Kallis misses out on Twenty20

South Africa have rested their ace all-rounder Jacques Kallis forthe inaugural Twenty-20 World Championships they are to host from September 11to 24.Also to be left out of the 15-member squad were the seasonedfast bowling triumvirate of Andrew Hall, Charl Langeveldt and AndreNel.Instead, finding place were all-rounder Vernon Philander, whomade an impressive debut against India in Ireland, Albie Morkel and John van derWath.Gulam Bodi was the new face in the team following a productiveouting in the domestic Pro-20 championship."The squad provides thecoach and captain with various options in all departments," Joubert Strydom, thenew convenor of selectors, said."The success of some individuals inthe tours since the World Cup, the tour to Ireland and the Emerging Players'Tournament, has highlighted the depth we have in our pool."Thesquad: Graeme Smith (capt), Gulam Bodi, Loots Bosman, Mark Boucher, AB deVilliers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Justin Kemp, Albie Morkel, Morn Morkel,Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock, Thandi Tshabalala, Johan van derWath.
