Ishant Sharma to join Team India for Delhi Test

NEW DELHI, November 21: Delhi pacer Ishant Sharma has been asked to join the Indian team for the first Test against Pakistan starting from November 22 at Ferozshah Kotla in Delhi.
Fast bowlers Sreesanth and RP Singh have been ruled out of the first Test after they sustained injuries on their shoulder and ribs respectively in the recently concluded ODI series against the archrivals.
Munaf Patel, who's been in and out of the side due to recurring injuries and inconsistency, also got a last minute replacement call as he himself is recovering from an injury.
Ishant Sharma on the other hand has played just one Test and ODI for India without much success. His recent stint in the domestic circuit and against South Africa 'A' team has been impressive.
"Ishant Sharma has been asked to join the team for the first Test match at Delhi in addition to Munaf Patel," the BCCI said in a statement.
