CHENNAI: India A and Australia A teams will test each other's strengths ahead of the final in the inconsequential last league match of the triangular series here on Wednesday.
India will miss the services of experienced captain S Badrinath, who has replaced injured Sachin Tendulkar in the Rest of India team for the Irani Trophy.
Suresh Raina will captain the side in his absence tomorrow and in the final.
Incidentally, this will be first time Raina will be leading a side at this level.
Both India and Australia have nine points each from three matches while New Zealand finished with just two points from four matches, losing twice to the hosts. India lost to Australia in their first match.
Though India scripted a 81-run victory over New Zealand in their previous match here on Sunday thanks to all-rounder Yusuf Pathan's century plus effort, the opening pair of Robin Uthappa and Swapnil Asnodkar had not clicked yet.
As for the Indian bowling attack, Piyush Chawla (5/142 in three matches), Praveen Kumarmen Philip Hughes, Luke Ronchi, David Hussey and captain Cameroon White have been amongst runs and if Indian bowlers could contain these batters, they should be utilising the home advantage to the hilt.
Shaun Tait (6/87), Ashely Nofke (5/105), Cameroon White (7/110) and Xavier Dhoherty (6/106) had been the chief wicket takers for Australia in the three matches.
