AHMEDABAD: While the Gujarat Ranji team is doing well and after four matches, have managed to stay on the top of the points table, back home, Gujarat U-25 team is doing their bit in keeping the state's cricket flag flying high.
In their Col CK Nayudu league match played against Rajasthan at the Motera Stadium recently, they picked up three points after taking first-innings lead and have qualified for the knockout stages.
However, despite a drawn match, Gujarat coach Chetan Mankad would be happy to see the two Gandhis in his team-Chirag Gandhi and Yash Gandhi- found solid for with the bat.
While the former scored a double ton in the first innings and a steady 68 in the second, the latter managed a 118-ball 53 in Gujarat's second innings.
Despite Gujarat commanding this match all the time and its batsmen doing well, Mankad knows their are still some loopholes to plug in before they play knockouts.
"The team knows that we still have to work on our batting. We have a problem at the top and the middle-order is yet to fire," Mankad said.
