RANCHI: After being turned down at first, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's application for a gun license has been approved and he can now keep a 9mm pistol at his newly constructed home.
"The Centre has cleared his application for license for the prohibited pistol," Home Secretary J B Tubid said here today.
"Dhoni's application was forwarded to the Centre, which had sent it back with some queries.

After we again forwarded it (with necessary requirements), the Centre a couple of days ago communicated us to provide the license to him," Tubid added.
The Ranchi district administration had in 2008 sought a character certificate from Dhoni before sending his application to the union Home Ministry.
Later, the rules were relaxed by the state.
