HYDERABAD: On a first innings wicket like the one at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, a team needs to fare very badly to lose outright. Hyderabad and defending champions Delhi hope its not them when they resume hostilities in the Ranji Trophy Super League Group A match beginning on Monday.
The first round of the league saw the teams tread warily and bag three points apiece courtesy the first innings lead.

The defending champions are here on the back of a score upwards of 500 in their last essay against Punjab but their coach Vijay Dahiya stressed the need to be wary if they are not to be caught napping by a youthful Hyderabad outfit.
"They are a new team with a lot of new faces. We have to raise our game," said Dahiya after putting his wards through their paces on the eve of the match. The visiting side will miss the services of Virat Kohli - away on national duty for the ODIs against England - and are toying with the idea of fielding two medium-pacers and two spinners. And in all likelihood that could mean Ashish Nehra and Pradeep Sangwan marshalling the attack along with Chetnya Nanda and offie Narinder Singh. The hosts too hope Amol Shinde will pass the fitness muster. Shinde had sprained his ankle after the first match and in the event he fails to make the cut, Ahmed Quadri might make his debut for Hyderabad.
That apart, the hosts can take heart from their performance in Cuttack, where they were well served by the batting of DB Ravi Teja, Anoop Pai and Abhinav Kumar on a difficult wicket.
