MELBOURNE: New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has sorted out the recent glove controversy by making it clear in a text message to Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin that he did not intend to refer him as a "cheat" and the duo have moved on.
Vettori had questioned Haddin's role as wicketkeeper in the dismissal of batsman Neil Broom during their ODI match on Sunday as replays showed his gloves were in front of the stumps.
Haddin had also attacked Vettori for questioning his integrity.
"Haddin thanked Vettori in a reply text and said he would also like to leave the incident behind them," according to a report in 'The Age'.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting said Haddin had received "an apology" from Vettori, but New Zealand team manager Lindsay Crocker said "We've agreed both sides have a different version of events. We should put the matter behind us."
