Chandan, Kunjan hit fifties in VCA trial match

NAGPUR: Chandan Singh and Kunjan Patel slammed brilliant half-centuries to help President XI post a challenging total against Secretary XI on the opening day of the VCA U-25 trial match at the Kalamna ground on Monday.
Put in to bat, President XI got a good start as both the openers scored fifties. While Chandan struck 68 (135 balls), Kunjan made 57 (131).No. 4 batsman Akshay Karnewar hammered a quick-fire 46 off just 42 balls.
Shahnawaz Khan and Vijay Kodape scalped three wickets each.
In reply, Secretary XI ended the day on 33 for no loss in just 5 overs. Mayank Jasore smashed an unbeaten 28 off 20 balls.
