BANGALORE: KN Bharath scored an unbeaten 122 to help Karnataka snatch the first innings lead against Uttar Pradesh on the second day of their four-day U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy quarterfinals at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday.
Bharath's 122 came off 179 balls studded with 14 boundaries and one six as Karnataka added 262 runs to their overnight score of 26 for one to take a lead of 77 runs.

After bundling out UP for 211, the hosts lost Rohan Kadam and Nischal D with 64 runs on the board. Thereafter, Abhinav Manohar (39) and skipper Shreyas Gopal (36) steered the team to safety before Bharath joined hands with Kranthi Kumar (41 not out) to complete the task. The fifth wicket unbroken stand added 139 runs as Karnataka closed at 288 runs.
