NEW DELHI: Having completed the first phase of the 'Talent Search for bowlers' programme successfully, the Indian Cricket Board (
BCCI) is all set to conduct the second round of Open Trials for pacers and spinners in April-May.
The trials will be limited to the bowlers, who have not featured in any of the BCCI-sanctioned tournament.
The bowlers, who will be selected after the two rounds of trials, will undergo coaching at the various BCCI academies, a Board release said.
The programme is aimed at identifying and grooming new bowling talents across the country.
The first phase of this programme was held at Dharamsala (Feb 18-19), Jammu (Feb 22-23), Ranchi (Feb 25-26) and Raipur (Feb 28-29).
The trials were conducted by
Sandeep Patil, director of cricket operations, NCA;
Karsan Ghavri, head coach of BCCI Academy, Mohali; and Yoginder Puri, coach of BCCI Academy, Mohali.
