As team flounders, Holder feels happy and normal
PORT OF SPAIN (TRINIDAD): It's the unenviable responsibility of Jason Holder to face the media before and after every game as captain of the West Indies team. More often than not, it is his duty to defend the team after another below-par performance or justify contentious selections. The young man is feeling the heat but continues to shoulder on, on and off the field.
However, hard as he may try, Holder cannot hide the confusion and lack of accountability within the camp.

He keeps talking about execution being the key without any improvement in execution. He also expresses happiness with his own form despite having taken just one wicket in the series so far.
Sample these bytes from his pre-match media interaction on Wednesday here:
On his own form:
Personally, I would like to get some better starts. I felt I was always doing well in the series but just haven’t got the wickets to show. I feel normal, pretty happy and pretty confident.
On team getting criticised over poor results:
There's always criticism as people have things to say and people have their opinion. So, I don't think about it at all.
On the need for change in misfiring batting line-up:
We have had some one-on-one meetings with the batsmen and the coach and we have tried to find ways where we can enhance our preparation for the fourth Test. We have been working very hard but haven't been able to convert it.

On operations manager Joel Garner's comment that the boys need to work harder:
I would say we are working hard. I don’t know what the manager is saying. That's his opinion.
On rumours about Marlon Samuels' retirement:
I don't know anything about this being Marlon's last Test series. He hasn't said anything in the dressing room.
On the pressure he faces:
Personally, it hasn't been too bad for me but I haven't had the results. I feel I have done my job pretty well. I am feeling pretty normal, jovial, my normal self and trying to keep the dressing room lively. I have had interactions with lot of players over the last few days about this series and keep things as comfortable as possible. I'm trying to make sure they know what they are doing in this set- up and it is easy for me to get along with them. It hasn’t been difficult at all.
