MUMBAI: Armaan Jaffer slammed an unbeaten 199 (188b, 27x4, 1x6) as Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) scored 362 for eight against Anjuman-e-Islam on Day One of their Harris Shield semifinal at the Karnatak Sports Association Ground. Rizvi were down at 40 for six, before Armaan changed the complexion of the game.
The batting wonder first added 121 with Vipul Rathore, who smashed 86 (69b, 7x4, 5x6) for the eighth wicket.
He then joined forces with A Shaikh (38 not out, 5x4) and the two had put on 139 for the ninth wicket before close of play. Arman, a nephew of veteran Mumbai opener
Wasim Jaffer, had lost his grandfather last week. For Anjuman, left-arm pacer Aftab Ansari took five for 67.
