BENGALURU: While admitting that the absence of Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander could alter the dynamics of his team, South Africa skipper Hashim Amla said he had faith in their replacements.
"Losing Steyn one of the best bowlers in the world and Philander arguably the best allrounder in the world is a blow," Amla said. "But the guys who will replace them are quality cricketers. We are fortunate to have depth in our side, especially in the bowling.

There was some good news for the visitors after allrounder JP Duminy was declared fit to play after recovering from a finger injury sustained during the third ODI. Amla said Duminy's return would add muscle to their line-up. "Duminy has been a quality player for many years as he bats at crucial positions No. 5, No. 6 and No.7. He has performed in all forms of the game. So he brings balance to the side."
South Africa acted quickly in flying in Kyle Abbott as a replacement for Philander, but Amla shrugged off suggestions that the replacement should have been called in earlier considering Steyn's injury. "Abbott will be ready. Whenever he has got an opportunity, he has done exceptionally well. He is a wonderful professional," Amla added.
