After winning a thriller, Gujarat women lose

AHMEDABAD: After beating Punjab in a nail-biting encounter, Gujarat eves suffered a setback when they faltered at their big test and suffer a nine-wicket loss against a formidable Railways in BCCI Women's T20 Super League-cum-Knockout Tournament in Mumbai.
Gujarat's batting collapsed like a pack of cards against an experienced Railways attack as they were restricted to a paltry 93 for nine from 20 overs.
Skipper Payal Panchal was the only one to offer some resistance with a 34-ball 30 knock that saw five fours, as only two others-Disha Patel (17) and Falguni Chauhan (15) - managed to reach double figures.
For Railways, Amita Sharma and S Subbalaxmi took two wickets each while Gauhar Sultana, Neetu David and A Das picked a wicket each.
Railways then notched up the runs in 14.2 overs, losing one wicket in the process. Sharma led from the front with an unbeaten 49-ball 56 while fellow opener S Jadhav added 32 before falling to Darshan Rajput.
