DUBAI: Defending champions Afghanistan skittled Ireland out for 187 on the first day of the ICC Intercontinental Cup final in Dubai on Tuesday.
The Afghans finished the day at 81 for three, trailing by 106 runs. Fast bowler Dawlat Zadran claimed 4-44 off 16 overs and wrist spinner Rahmat Shah 3-36 off nine at the ICC Cricket Academy Oval.
Ireland, the three-time former champions, lasted just 61 overs with only John Anderson (55) and John Mooney (33) offering any significant resistance.

However, the Irish fought back to leave Afghanistan in some bother at 81 for three with Mooney grabbing all the wickets to fall.
