Aditya Waghmode helped holders Baroda Cricket Association XI take a big first innings lead over Dilip Vengsarkar XI on the second day of the three-day final of the MCA's under-22 cricket tournament (90 & 40 overs) for the Madhav Mantri Trophy at the BKC ground, Bandra, on Friday. Vengsarkar XI, chasing Baroda's target of 374, were bowled out for 247 in just 66 overs.
Pankaj Jaiswal (62) was the top scorer for Vengsarkar XI. He was involved in a 58-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Siddesh Lad (33).
Waghmode, who scored a century on Day One, was the main wicket taker for visitors. He returned with figures of 23-11-84-5.
At close of play, Baroda were 94 for two with Waghmode (55*) putting on 85 runs for the third wicket with Shahid Tai (30).
