Former Australian captain Steve Waugh was recently in the city on behalf of IWC Schaffhausen Luxury Watches and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, where he launched a limited special edition IWC Ingenieur Laureus watch, a portion of whose sale proceeds will help disadvantaged children.
Following their tradition, the international watch brand had organised a children’s drawing competition within projects supported by the sports foundation worldwide.

This year, the jury chose an illustration by eight-year-old Sohel Abrar Khan from Mumbai, who is part of the Laureus-supported Magic Bus project, to be inscribed on the back of the IWC Ingenieur Laureus watch.
Sohel's illustration, interpreted from the theme of the competition - Time For Unity, shows seven young people gathered for a game of football to create unity in the slums he comes from. Waugh said, "Sohel's drawing fit the theme perfectly, and for him to win this honour will be something that he and his family will cherish forever."
Maxime Ferte, Regional Director of IWC, Middle East, who was also present at the event, said that the idea of encouraging and empowering disadvantaged children worldwide financially, by creating quality products that people want to buy, was something that IWC took great pride in.
